Models Application is Shutting Down

I have put much effort over the past 2 years into creating an alternative for the Thingiverse(TM) Customizer. However, despite having over 6,000 registered users, only a few found it valuable enough to upgrade to a premium license. This could be due to two potential reasons: firstly, there is a limited community of OpenSCAD users, which means that few creators are interested in designing models for the platform. Secondly, most 3D printer users prefer pre-made models or using a graphical CAD application to create their own designs rather than customizing existing ones.

Unfortunately, due to the low number of paid subscribers, I have decided to shut down the platform at the end of this year. This means that all annual subscriptions will be refunded, and monthly subscriptions will be canceled. I want to thank everyone who joined me on this journey. Working on this project has been a pleasure, but unfortunately, it did not gain enough traction to continue.

Anytime you start a new business is it important to create a business plan for a set of targets. The "models" application may have delighted thousands of people however it failed to meet the targets I set for success. As Kenny Rogers sang in "The Gambler" -- "You've got to know when to hold 'em. Know when to fold 'em. Know when to walk away. And know when to run away.
